4. Risk Characterization

The sources used for this Plan did not really capture the "risk" literature. If this is determined a priority research need area, more investigation needs to be done, literature surveys, etc., to determine ongoing work in characterizing ecological and human health risks posed by emissions from plating processes, in particular from emissions of cadmium, hexavalent chromium, cyanide, and chlorinated solvents from specific facilities.
