Delisting F006 Waste

Thread from IPC's ComplianceNet

Hello ComplinaceNeters,
Just thought you'd like to know that the Project XL agreement which was developed between HADCO, EPA Regions I and II, NH DES and NYS DEC was signed by all parties. A ceremony recognizing this achievement was held at HADCO's Derry facility today with NH Governor Jeanne Shaheen, Region I EPA Administrator John DeVillars, Congressman Charles Bass, and NH DES Commissioner Bob Varney attending.

This agreement seeks to demonstrate an expedited delisting of F006 sludge from HADCO's facilities in Derry, Hudson and Salem, NH and Owego, NY. In exchange for an expedited delisting, conditional delisting, or solid waste variance, HADCO has committed to putting all savings into sludge driers at those facilities which do not have them, and into the recycling of copper bearing dusts, which are currently landiflled. HADCO has been recycling its F006 sludge through a recycling facility for at least seven years from the four facilities covered by this agreement.
