Most printed wire boards are not environmentally friendly to recycle as in they burn and give off nasty gases. Does anybody know of any commercially available PWB's or research substrates which are nicer to the environment. PWB's that burn and don't give off these gases or even PWB's that melt during a recycle.
Any help would really be appreciated.
Thanks in Advance,
Kenneth Rodgers.

Kenneth,
Thermoplastic substrates have been around for quite a while, e.g. I bought some boards fabricated using a polyethersulphone laminate over 10 years ago. Their use generally seems to have been limited to 3D boards and simple high volume boards, such as game cartridges, which can be injection molded. I would guess these materials are difficult to fabricate multilayer boards. Resins such as PES are also expensive so their use has to be justified in reduced costs elswhere (e.g. eliminating drilling costs).
