Reporting Thresholds

Q.Where can I find the weight amounts that force us to do the form R, for other metals like copper, antimony, lead and chrome compounds. Sulfuric acid has come up also; do we need to report it? What are the limits also.

A. The respective thresholds that trigger the requirement for submitting a Form R for all TRI chemicals (not just metals) are as follows: 25,000 lbs, 10,000 lbs, and 100 lbs (the new lead rule), depending on how you use or process the metal..

General information on threshold determination is found in the TRI Instruction Booklets that were just sent out.

Sulfuric acid only has to be counted if a mist or aerosol emission exceeded the 25,000 lbs. or 10,000 lbs. threshold
